FAQs

What does the name Kintopia mean?

Kintopia is a blend of two words: ‘kin’, meaning family or relations and ‘utopia’, meaning a perfect place – a type of paradise. We believe in doing our best to getting as close to this as we possibly can, by creating a world where business and love & respect bond – that's the world of Kintopia Beauty.

Are your products vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes, absolutely. Every Kin Beauty product is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. We never test on animals, and we only work with suppliers who share this ethical commitment. It’s non-negotiable for us.

How sustainable are your products and packaging?

Sustainability is a journey, and we're proud of the steps we've taken so far. Our products are formulated with ethically sourced ingredients, and we prioritise using low-impact, recyclable packaging. As a startup, we are constantly seeking better, more sustainable options and are working toward meeting B Corp environmental standards as we grow.

Where are your products made?

Our manufacturing partner is based in the European Union. We chose them because of their high ethical standards, expertise, and alignment with our values. We are committed to transparent partnerships, and as we scale, we’re exploring additional local options to further reduce our carbon footprint.

What are you doing about your carbon footprint?

We take our environmental responsibility seriously. While our EU supplier means some carbon emissions from transport, we currently offset those emissions through a UK-based organisation supporting tree-planting and verified climate projects.

At the same time, we know offsetting isn’t the full answer — so we’re actively working towards reducing our emissions long-term through smarter sourcing and logistics. Transparency and real progress matter to us.

Who handles your fulfillment and shipping?

Our fulfillment is handled by Paperworks, a UK-based social enterprise that champions inclusive employment for disabled and autistic individuals. Choosing them means every purchase supports wider social good, not just great service.

Are your ingredients ethically sourced?

Yes. Ethical sourcing is at the core of what we do. We carefully select suppliers who prioritise environmental stewardship, ethical labour practices, and full ingredient traceability. We believe beauty should never come at a cost to people, animals, or ecosystems.

Do you have any certifications for your products or B Corp?

Yes, our EU supplier has the following certifications:

  • Cruelty-Free
  • Nut-Free
  • Sulphate-Free
  • Eco Cert (Cosmo Organic)
  • Paraben-Free
  • Eco Cert (Cosmo Natural)
  • Gluten-Free
  • FDA Compliant
  • Vegan-Friendly
  • Bureau Veritas 1828

Achieving B Corp certification is part of our growth roadmap, and we’re building the foundations now. We believe in meeting the highest verified standards for social and environmental performance. Achieving B Corp status is a vigorous process, and we’ll update you as we progress.

Are your products safe for sensitive skin?

Our products are formulated with gentle, plant-based ingredients designed to be kind to all skin types, including sensitive skin. However, as with any new product, we recommend doing a patch test first, especially if you have known allergies or very reactive skin.

How does Kintopia give back?

Beyond carbon offsetting and ethical sourcing, we also have a cause which is close to our heart – Hygiene Poverty. Through our giving programme Kintopia Kindness, we’ll donate every time you make a purchase. We’ll keep you updated on how well we’re all doing and how many people benefit from your purchases.

Are your products available internationally?

Currently, we are focused on the UK market. Expanding internationally in a sustainable, ethical way is part of our future, but we want to grow carefully, with a continued focus on reducing environmental impact wherever possible.

What makes Kin Beauty different from other ethical beauty brands?

We don’t just focus on the product — we embed love, respect and responsibility into every layer of our business, from sourcing and fulfillment to partnerships, community building and our volunteers. We combine beauty, wellness, ethical living and true love into a single, honest offering. Obviously, as a business, we are a brand – however, we really do think of ourselves as a family.

How can I be part of the Kintopia family?

We’d love for you to join us! Sign up to our newsletter – Love Letters from Kintopia, follow us on social media, and feel free to take part in our campaigns and challenges. We’re building more than a brand — we’re building a movement, and everyone is welcome!

Are you greenwashing?

No. We’re committed to full transparency about where we are now and where we want to be. We’re open about not being perfect — and we don't believe in pretending otherwise. Instead, we’re building an honest, continually improving path towards real, meaningful sustainability and ethical business practice.
